"Acknowledging there's a problem and considering getting help is a huge step in getting better"

With over 13 years’ experience of counselling experience, Stuart has worked with a wide range of issues and clients.

Regardless of why you might be considering counselling, a common factor is a degree of emotional pain that's having an impact on relationships and life in general.   People often tolerate emotional pain differently than physical pain, they’ve usually been living with it for quite some time before seeking help.   I offer in-person counselling in East Belfast and can also provide online counselling if preferred.

Being Accredited with the BACP is a quality standard for experienced practitioners, and I’ve also undertaken training in working with various Addictions and Abuse.  My counselling approach is Integrative meaning that our work together can be tailored to suit your needs.  An important element is the quality of the counselling relationship, and at the core of my work is the fostering of a safe, empathetic and emotionally attuned relationship, allowing you to feel safe to express how you feel, and be understood without judgement.

Acknowledging that there is a problem and considering counselling is a huge step in getting better and you’ll find out more about how I work, the issues I work with on this site.  You can also contact me for a free 20 minute chat to check out if I’m the right counsellor for you, and arrange an assessment.
